While the motorcycle is in the renter’s care, the renter is responsible for damage to the owner’s property. If there is an accident or damage, it must be reported to the police. If the renter leaves without reporting and damage occurs, the renter remains liable for that damage.
A motorcycle rented from DIH Rental must not be used to commit, or take part in, any act prohibited by the laws, constitution, or regulations of the Republic of Maldives.
Only the person who rented the motorcycle may ride it. If another person rides it and damage occurs, the renter remains responsible. In that case insurance will not cover the loss. If an unauthorized rider causes damage, the renter must also pay the daily rental rate for each day the motorcycle is under repair.
Any helmet provided with the motorcycle is in the renter’s care. If it is lost or damaged, the renter must pay the helmet price of MVR 400.
Fuel used while riding is the renter’s responsibility. If the motorcycle is returned with insufficient fuel, a charge of MVR 15 may be applied.
Rental due for the motorcycle must be paid before handover. To extend the rental period, confirm and pay the additional amount. If amounts owed (daily rental, fines, helmet charges, repair fees, or other sums payable to DIH Rental) are not paid under these rules, information about the matter may be published on DIH Rental’s website and social media.
The motorcycle must be ridden in accordance with the Maldives road-traffic rules, including the general traffic regulation 2021/R-131.
The renter must pay every fine incurred during the rental period, including parking, speeding, violations, toll/road fees, or other regulatory penalties — including amounts that must be paid to DIH Rental.
If the motorcycle is towed or seized because of a parking or traffic violation, the renter agrees to pay towing/yard fees and related fines to DIH Rental. The renter must also pay the daily rental for each day the motorcycle is unavailable as compensation.
If the motorcycle’s key / remote is lost, the renter must pay DIH Rental the cost of replacement. Replacement must be done through an authorized service centre of the motorcycle’s brand distributor.
To return the motorcycle at or before the end of the rental period, call DIH Rental on 7494900 at least 60 minutes in advance so staff can meet you for handover. Parties who do not give at least 30 minutes’ notice must bring the motorcycle to DIH Rental’s office / designated place. After the rental period ends, for each extra hour DIH Rental may charge between MVR 60 and MVR 280 as compensation, at DIH Rental’s discretion.
If any of the above rules is breached, DIH Rental may reclaim the motorcycle even before the rental period ends. In that case no refund will be given.
